Terms of Service

By accessing or using Synapse (aisynapse.app), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the service.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and PuntoyComaTech ("we", "our", or "the company").

Synapse is an adaptive learning platform that transforms your study materials into a structured study experience with personalized learning paths grounded in cognitive science.

Synapse is operated by PuntoyComaTech.

To use Synapse you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by your country's law to enter online service contracts without parental consent).
• Have legal capacity to accept a contract in your jurisdiction.
• Not have been previously suspended or banned from Synapse.

If you use Synapse on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your access credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

Do not share your account with third parties. Each account is personal and non-transferable.

Synapse is currently in closed beta. This means:

• Access is by invitation. You need to request access and receive approval to use the service.
• The service may contain bugs, experience downtime, or change without prior notice.
• We do not guarantee continuous availability or stability during the beta.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

You use the service in its current state ("as is") and accept the inherent limitations of a beta product.

During the closed beta, access to Synapse is completely free. We do not charge for use of the service during this phase.

Because there are no charges, there are no refund policies applicable during the beta.

When we launch Synapse to the general public, we will publish the plans and pricing separately with sufficient advance notice. At that point, you will have the opportunity to accept the new commercial terms or stop using the service before any charges apply.

You retain intellectual property ownership of all materials you upload to Synapse (PDFs, images, audio, video, URLs).

By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, revocable license to:

• Store and process your materials to provide the service and generate your personalized study experience.
• Display the processed content within your account.
• Operate, secure, and technically improve the service.

This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, subject to limited retention described in the Privacy Policy.

Our commitments: - We do not use your content to train AI models. - We do not publish or share your content with third parties without your consent, except as stated in the Privacy Policy.

You may not upload or use Synapse to process:

• Material that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of third parties without authorization.
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — this constitutes a serious crime and we will report it to the appropriate authorities.
• Malware, viruses, malicious code, or content designed to damage systems.
• Content that promotes hate, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or other protected characteristics.
• Material that violates third-party privacy (e.g., personal data of third parties without consent).
• Spam, unsolicited advertising, or deceptive content.

The following are prohibited:

• Automated scraping of Synapse's content or API without written authorization.
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the service's source code.
• Evading usage limits, authentication mechanisms, or security controls.
• Impersonating other users, Synapse team members, or third parties.
• Using the service for illegal activities or activities that harm third parties.
• Interfering with the service's infrastructure, servers, or networks.
• Sharing your closed beta access with non-approved individuals.

All code, design, brand elements, user interface, proprietary systems, workflows, and content that are not your study materials belong to PuntoyComaTech or its licensors.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the service under these Terms. This license does not authorize you to:

• Copy, reproduce, or redistribute the service or its components.
• Use the "Synapse" brand without written authorization.
• Create derivative works based on the service.

By us: We may suspend or close your account if:

• You violate these Terms of Service.
• Your use poses a security or legal risk to the platform or third parties.
• The service is discontinued.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before suspension, except in cases of serious or urgent security violations.

By you: You may close your account at any time from your account settings (/studio/settings). After closure, your data is deleted as stated in the Privacy Policy.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

In particular:

• We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is completely accurate, complete, or suitable for academic or professional decisions. Always verify critical information with primary sources.
• We are not responsible for academic, professional, or other decisions you make based solely on content generated by Synapse.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, especially during the beta phase.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• PuntoyComaTech's aggregate liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $100 (whichever is greater).
• During the beta (when the service is free), the maximum liability is USD $100.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for consequential damages; in those cases, these limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PuntoyComaTech, its officers, employees, partners, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, damage, liability, or cost (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms of Service.
• Your violation of third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Your misuse of the service.

We may modify these Terms periodically. If the changes are material (significantly affecting your rights or obligations), we will notify you by email at least 15 days in advance.

Continued use of the service after the new Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance. If you disagree with the changes, you may close your account before the effective date.

These Terms are governed by applicable contract and consumer protection laws, without limiting any non-waivable rights that apply in your place of residence.

Before filing a formal claim, you and we agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally by contacting [email protected].

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be submitted to the court, regulator, or dispute resolution forum that has competent jurisdiction under applicable law.
